In 1991, at the age of 20, Arvind Swamy marked his entry into the film industry with Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathy, which featured a character inspired by Arjuna from Mahabharata. He gained recognition by acting in Ratnam’s blockbuster films, Roja in 1992 and Bombay in 1995. These films cemented his status as a lead actor.

His popularity and acting skills received a significant boost when he appeared in the National Award-winning film Minsara Kanavu alongside Kajol in 1997. The following year, he made his Bollywood debut opposite Juhi Chawla in Saat Rang Ke Sapna.
At this point, he was considered the next big star in Tamil cinema, seen as the natural successor to Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. However, fate had other plans.

Until the late 90s, Swamy’s films were not doing well at the box office. Several projects in which he was supposed to play the lead role were dropped, including a Mahesh Bhatt film with Aishwarya Rai and Anupam Kher’s directorial debut with Amitabh Bachchan.
Additionally, two of his films suffered prolonged production delays. Disappointed with the trajectory of his career, Swamy decided to take a break from acting in films after 2000. He shifted his focus towards managing his father’s business interests, working at VD Swami & Co and later at Interpro Global.

In 2005, he suffered an accident that resulted in partial paralysis of his leg. The treatment lasted about 4-5 years and she had prolonged pain.
Though Swami had already established himself as a successful businessman in the early 2000s, his most notable venture came in 2005.

Just before his injury, he founded Talent Maximus, a company specializing in payroll processing and temporary staffing in India. According to various market tracking portals like RocketReach, Talent Maximus recorded a staggering revenue of $418 million (Rs 3300 crore) in 2022. The owners are actively involved in the operations of the company.
